Our favorite British boy is going to Broadway. As reported by the New York Times, pop star Boy George is joining "Moulin Rouge! The Musical."
It's been two decades since George has been on Broadway, and he will play the role of enthusiastic club owner Harold Zidler.
George made his Broadway debut in "Taboo," a musical produced by Rosie O'Donnell, which featured songs he wrote. George will be in the role of Zidler from Feb. 6 to May 12 at Al Hirschfeld Theater. "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" favorite Tituss Burgess is in the role now, which was originated by Danny Burstein.
Based on a 2001 film directed by Baz Luhrmann, "Moulin Rouge!" tells the story of a young 20th century composer who falls in love with a cabaret actress.
The "Moulin Rouge! The Musical" opened in 2019 and reopened 2021 after pausing for the coronavirus pandemic.
