Watch: Sexy Talk and Crotch Dive – Video Shows Madison Cawthorn Getting Playful with Male Staffer

A day after scandal-plagued North Carolina Rep. Madison Cawthorn posted a video claiming "salacious lies" are being told about him, the freshman Republican lawmaker starred in a video of a very different kind as footage came to light of him and a male staffer engaged in sexy talk and a crotch grab, UK newspaper the Daily Mail reports.

The video "shows Cawthorn, 26, in a car with his close aide and his scheduler Stephen Smith, 23," the Daily Mail recounts.

"Cawthorn sits in the driver's seat apparently filmed by Smith as he adopts an exaggerated accent and says, 'I feel the passion and desire and would like to see a naked body beneath my hands.' "

As Smith replies "Me too" and Cawthorn can be heard laughing, "Smith then films himself reaching his hand over and into Cawthorn's crotch," the account continues.

The video has been posted to YouTube and Twitter, where it's quickly gone viral. The Twitter post was shared by Super PAC Meidas Touch, according to Business Insider, and "has been viewed over 520,000 times and received over 10,000 likes. It has also been retweeted over 6,000 times."

The newly-revealed video "is at the center of a complaint calling for an investigation into [Cawthorn] and filed with the Office of Congressional Ethics today," the newspaper noted. So are allegations that the staffer in question, Steven L. Smith, lives with Cawthorn, has received "thousands of dollars" in gifts and loans from the congressman, and seems to have a personal relationship with him outside of, and predating, their workplace roles.

Filed along with the complaint was a trove of photos showing the men together in recreational settings. In one snap, "Cawthorn lounges covered with only a towel, his arm draped over Smith who rests his head on his boss's shoulder and places his hand on Cawthorn's hip," the Daily Mail detailed.

Still another submission made with the complaint was a series of screenshots of what seemed to be Venmo payments between Cawthorn and Smith, with explanatory notes attached that read "The quickie at the airport," "The stuff we did in Amsterdam," and "Getting naked for me in Sweden," among other suggestive captions, the Mail relayed.

Those screenshots were also posted to Twitter by Meidas Touch.

The complaint and accompanying materials were filed on April 27 by David Wheeler, the head of American Muckrakers PAC, which operates the site Fire Madison Cawthorn. Along with the video and other claims, the complaint listed previously-reported scandals, including Cawthorn having tried to take hand guns aboard commercial flights on two occasions and allegations of insider trading.

The complaint also alleged that Smith accompanied Cawthorn and his ex-wife on their honeymoon trip to Dubai in 2021.

"Records reviewed by DailyMail.com show that Smith was living at Cawthorn's Hendersonville, North Carolina, home throughout the representative's brief marriage," the newspaper documented.

The newly-released video is part of a seemingly endless string of scandals and controversies in which the freshman representative has been embroiled, which has included allegations of sexual harassment, repeated traffic violations (including driving with a revoked license), and a recent leak of photos showing the Cawthorn dressed in women's lingerie, which he shrugged off in social media posts as "goofy vacation photos," Business Insider recalled.

According to a rambling, two-and-a-half minute Instagram post he made the day before the video of himself and Smith came to light, Cawthorn believes he's being subjected by "RINO Republicans" and "establishment" politicians to a "coordinated" effort to derail his re-election bid with a "drip campaign" of bad press.

The latest round of scandals could overshadow Cawthorn's claims, made on the "Warrior Poet Society" podcast on March 27, "that D.C. political figures invited him to a 'sexual get-together,' and he witnessed drug control advocates doing 'key bumps' of cocaine in front of him," as Forbes reported.

"House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) later said Cawthorn admitted he made up or exaggerated the allegations," Forbes added, before relating that McCarthy had counseled Cawthorn to "turn himself around."

In comments to the Daily Mail, Wheeler indicated his skepticism that such a turnabout by Cawthorn was likely, calling the congressman "detached from reality".

Referring to the loaded guns the GOP congressman has twice tried to take with him on board commercial flights, and his record of driving infractions, Wheeler said, "This guy is either going to kill somebody or he's going to kill himself through his irresponsible actions... and I don't think he has any clue."
