Sean Hannity Says Glares and Hostility Drove Him Out of NYC
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Sean Hannity, a prominent Fox News host and conservative political commentator, has publicly explained that a climate of hostility and discomfort in New York City played a significant role in his decision to leave the city and move to Florida. Hannity, who had been a high-profile fixture in New York media for decades, made the announcement in a recent interview with former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, as well as on his nationally syndicated radio program and television broadcasts .
During the interview, Hannity recounted his experiences dining out in New York: “I had a hard time going to a restaurant in New York City because people would stare at me, and hated me, and they had daggers in their eyes” . He added, “I don’t know why New Yorkers are so intolerant, but that was my life in New York, so I left. I'm loved down here in Florida” .
Hannity also cited other reasons for his move, including high taxes, concerns about crime, and perceived declines in quality of life. However, it was his description of personal encounters—where he felt “hated” and unwelcome in public spaces—that has drawn the most attention and generated debate .
