It doesn't sound like 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg is a fan of EDGE Media Network.

During a radio interview Wednesday with SiriusXM host Clay Cane of "The Clay Cane Show," the South Bend, Ind. mayor revealed that he's not reading much LGBTQ news, NBC News reports. Cane asked the openly gay political about criticisms he's faced in "LGBT circles" that "more masculine-presenting men have more access" and asked, "How different would it be if you were quote-unquote 'more effeminate?'"

"It's tough for me to know, right, because I just am what I am, and you know, there's going to be a lot of that," Buttigieg said. "That's why I can't even read the LGBT media anymore because it's all, 'he's too gay,' 'not gay enough,' 'wrong kind of gay.'

"All I know is life became a lot easier when I just started allowing myself to be myself, and I'll let other people write up whether I'm 'too this' or 'too that,'" he added.

LGBTQ media has seen some setbacks in the last year with both Grindr's online news site Into and the U.K. new site Gay Star News shutting down in the last year.

Buttigieg will be one of the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates to take part in a LGBTQ presidential forum in Iowa Friday.
