As part of the 13th Annual New York International Fringe Festival, producer Justin Allen Pifer, in association with The Present Company, brings Festival audiences the World Premiere of The Boys Upstairs, the new gay comedy by Jason Mitchell.

The press release describes Mitchell's new comedy as "about Sex, Dating, Friendship, and all the blurry lines in between.

"'The Boys Upstairs' is a New York story that invites you upstairs to the fabulous living room of group of Hell Kitchen gay boys who handle relationships, careers, and the city with style, scandal, and specialty cocktails!"

Matthew Corozine directs a cast that includes Nic Cory, Joel T. Bauer, "RENT" vet Kristen-Alexzander Griffith, Josh Segarra (PBS Series "The Electric Company,"), and David A. Rudd, who also appeared last year in the Festival in "The Fabulous Kane Sisters: Box Office Poison."

Notes the press release, "On Monday, July 27th at 7:00 p.m. at Soho House (29-35 Ninth Avenue) the producers of The Boys Upstairs' will hold a benefit party with an open bar and passed appetizers; music by D.J. Steven Paul, live performances by Broadway's Marty Thomas, and others TBA; and a sneak-peak at 'The Boys Upstairs.'

"Tickets for 'The Boys Upstairs' benefit party at Soho House on July 27th will be $45," the release continues; "for more information and to arrange tickets please call 917-686-8042 or email JasonMitchellNY@aol.com.";

From the release: "Playwright Jason Mitchell's credits include 'The Red Box'--a full-length play that deals with homosexual persecution in the Holocaust and post-camp life of homosexual Holocaust survivors," while "Director Matthew Corozine is the Artistic Director of Matthew Corozine Studio Theatre, Inc., a 40 seat theatre in Times Square."

The release also noted that Corozine directed the New York premiere of "Confessions of a Mormon Boy," about a devout member of the LDS church who comes to accept his homosexuality.

"The Boys Upstairs" will see five performances at The SoHo Playhouse, located at 15 Vandam Street: Saturday, August 15, at 2:30 p.m.; Sunday, August 16, at 12:30 p.m.; Tuesday, August 18, at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, August 27, at 5:00 p.m.; and Friday, August 28, at 7:00 p.m.
